Description

Indication
Treatment of infections caused by susceptible gram-negative organisms. Bone and joint infections, gonorrhea, intra-abdominal and pelvic infections, lower respiratory tract infections including pseudomonas infections with cystic fibrosis, meningitis, septicemia, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Renal or hepatic impairment. Pregnancy Risk: Category B.
Drug Interactions
Anticoagulants.
Side Effects
Hypersensitivity reactions, gastrointestinal effects, overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, pseudomembraceous colitis, liver problems, prolongation of prothrombin and thromboplastin time, phlebitis or thrombophlebitis.
