Acetylcysteine

Indications/Uses
Secretolytic/mucolytic agent in acute & chronic bronchopulmonary diseases associated w/ abnormal mucus secretion & impaired mucus transport. Antidote for paracetamol poisoning.

Dosage/Direction for Use
Mucolytic 1 tab bid-tid. Adult Antidote for paracetamol poisoning 2 tab soln immediately & then 1 tab soln after 4 hr until symptoms are controlled.

Administration
Should be taken with food: Dissolve 1 tab in 100 mL of drinking water.

Contraindications
Hypersensitivity. Active peptic ulcer.

Special Precautions
Bronchial asthma due to risk of bronchospasm; PUD. Discontinue in case of allergic reaction. Pregnancy & lactation.
